When you’re a scrapbooker and a Project Lifer you’re never short of opportunities to document both the amazing and the mundane aspects of life. But there’s something about the festive season that calls to our scrappy hearts and makes us want to do more. To celebrate the stories and emotions of this wonderful time of year.
There are numerous ways to document the season with some creating a daily album that includes every day life as well as festive elements and others focussing solely on Christmas. Since I have my Project Life® album for the everyday stuff I’m choosing to create a Christmas album.
With Bubs being at the age where she’s just beginning to understand the concept of Christmas it’s the perfect opportunity to start a new tradition of creating one of these albums every year to capture the little things that will undoubtedly change in years to come. This year Bubs has been able to write a little bit of her letter to Santa herself and she’s going to be taking part in the preschool Christmas pageant. Next year she’ll have started big school and will no doubt be able to write the entire Santa letter herself and there will be nativity plays and school concerts to attend.
In order to get a head start on the album, and hopefully increase my chances of actually finishing it, I’ve created some foundation pages. I’ve identified the stories I want to tell and created a page for each story with a place for photos and journalling. If you’d like to see more of my album setup I’ve filmed a little video where you can see these foundation pages along with the supplies I’ll be using throughout December.
**I couldn’t resist including a quote from my favourite Terry Pratchett novel. Hogfather is one that I re-read every Christmas.
