The latest Like For Ever kit arrived at the end of October (you can watch my unboxing here) and in it was a large wood veneer of the word Beautiful.
There then followed a fair bit of chatter on the Like For Ever subscribers Facebook group about the ways we planned to embellish it. Some decided to emboss it, others planned to mist or paint theirs. Me? I had no idea.
And then when I was sorting through the photos I planned on scrapping I happened across this one of Bubs wearing her princess tiara and I had a bit of a crazy idea.
After having finished the letters B, e and a I was seriously beginning to wish I’d embossed it instead. It turns out they’re called hot glue guns for a reason and I’d already burned my hand and melted dozens of sequins. But since I don’t like to admit defeat I kept at it and I have to say I love the result.
I used one of the 12×12 patterned papers from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection as my background – it’s the b-side of the Cheer paper – and paired it with stickers from the same collection. There are lots of gold foiled accents on the 6×12 sticker sheet which were the perfect way to add more sparkle to the layout. As a finishing touch I popped on a pink heart as the dot of the i in Beautiful to echo the pink jewels on Bubs’ tiara.
Do pop back again tomorrow when I’ll be sharing another layout made with this collection.
