This year I’m making an effort to scrap more of the countryside where we live. These layouts will be the dividers in my 2015 scrapbook album and will break the rest of my layouts into seasons. So far I’ve scrapped Spring and the layout below – a bright and cheerful celebration of Summer.
The photo was taken on the nature reserve that is a short walk from our house. Bubs and I like to go there often and do a little seasonal scavenger hunt. In the summer the gorse is swathed in beautiful golden-yellow flowers, which makes for very picturesque photos.
I’m having a bit of a thing for these slide frames lately. I love the retro look they give to a layout and how you can use them draw focus to part of a photo. I’ve used tissue paper, tulle and cotton as layers to give the layout some added texture and I kept the rest of the embellishments low-key as I wanted the layout to be all about the photo.
I’ve recorded a process video for this layout where I go into a little more detail about the products I used. Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you’d like to see more process videos.
