I haven’t been letting myself have very much me time lately. There’s always so much to be doing at home (the never ending, overflowing washing baskets) and at the allotment (waging war on the slugs) that it feels like I’m slacking off if I spend time sticking pretty things onto even prettier paper.
This week I made a special effort to have some me time; afterall Hubs spends his evenings playing computer games and I don’t begrudge him that so why should I begrudge myself some scrapping time?
Phew that’s a very roundabout way of saying that I have a layout to share!
I used a circles stencil and a light pink ink to add a bit of interest to the top right corner of the white cardstock but it doesn’t show up very well. I am a bit nervous about mixed media as my attempts tend to end up looking like I’ve knocked over a tin of paint so I’m going too far the other way and being too lighthanded. I’m determined to keep trying though!
The main cluster was lots of fun to make. I used the patterned papers and embellishments from the June Like For Ever kit plus a doily and a frame from my stash. There’s a bundle of teal coloured cotton underneath the cluster just to jus it up a bit.
The photo is one of my favourites of Bubs, taken back in April during a spell of hot weather. We’d spent the day up at the allotment and had taken Bubs to the play park as a reward for her hard work helping us to sieve stones. She was in such a happy mood, full of laughter and just a pleasure to be around. Those are the kinds of days I want to always remember!
