Jenna of the fabulous blog Tinyfootsteps tagged me to take part in the A-Z meme and it sounded like a fun one to try. You can read Jenna’s post here. She’s written it from her daughter’s perspective which I think is a great idea!
It’s taken me absolutely ages to finish writing this list. I didn’t expect it to be so hard to think of something for each letter! I need more excitement in my life obviously.
So here we go – Me from A to Zee.
A – My middle name is Anne.
B – I was born in Germany.
C – I am a fan of crime dramas. CSI, Bones, The Mysteries of Laura, Forever, Elementary. You name it, I watch it.
D – Bubs’ is named after a character in Doctor Who. I love the show and when I found out I was pregnant there was no doubt what name we’d pick for a girl.
E – My waters broke ten weeks early and Bubs was born eight weeks early. I kept my legs (and my fingers) crossed for the intervening two weeks.
F – I don’t like wearing anything on my feet. I am always barefoot when I’m indoors, whatever the weather, and if I can get away with going barefoot outdoors I’ll do it.
G – I have ginger hair.
H – Hubs and I met at work. We were both seeing other people at the time so we tried to just be friends. The rest, as they say, is history.
I – Out of all of the social media sites my favourite is Instagram.
J – I am rubbish at remembering the punchline to jokes. “A horse walked into a bar and the bartender said I’m a frayed knot.” See, I told you so.
K – Hubs proposed using the metal hoop off of his keyring as an engagement ring.
L – I love to laugh. I will always choose comedy over drama and I’m forever taking the mickey out of myself.
M – I always wanted to be a Music Therapist when I left school but my maths GSCE grade wasn’t good enough. I have no idea why I would have needed maths but that’s school for you.
N – I used to hate the shape of my nose but now I love it because everyone tells me that Bubs’ looks just like mine.
O – I am two-thirds of the way through earning a degree in computing with the Open University. I haven’t taken a course since Bubs was born and I really need to get back into it.
P – The midwife who delivered Bubs was called Penny. She was exactly the kind of midwife you really hope you’ll have – friendly, kind, forceful when she needed to be. Someone who made me feel completely safe and in control.
Q – Two of our wedding songs were by Queen. My dad is a huge fan of the band and I grew up listening to them all of the time. Hubs chose “Don’t stop me now” and I chose “Crazy little thing called love”.
R – Hubs and I were married in the same castle that was used as a set in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.
S – I don’t like surprises.
T – My favourite author is Sir Terry Pratchett.
U – I have had Ulcerative Colitis since I was 19. I can always be relied upon to know where the nearest loo is!
V – I was a vegan for 17 years. I switched to being a vegetarian when I was pregnant with Bubs and I’m now a meat eater as I thought it only fair that I eat the same food that I expect Bubs to.
W – I am a web designer by trade. I love messing about with code and graphics.
X – Um… x….x… uurm… I have never played on an x-Box.
Y – I left school when I was 16 and got my first job as part of a Youth Training scheme. I earned 89p an hour and thought it was a fortune.
Z – When I was little I went on a school trip to Colchester Zoo and a tiger sprayed its pee on me through the wire enclosure. And yet it wasn’t the worst school trip I’ve ever been on.
