I hope you’ve all had a great Christmas! We’ve had a lovely one and now we’re relaxing and awaiting the New Year.
I thought I’d share some of my favourite pictures from the last few days. I was in mummy mode so I didn’t actually have my camera out very often but I’m really happy with the few pictures I did manage to get.
By the way that’s Hubs and his mum attempting to put together a Frozen jigsaw puzzle, which took them the better part of ten minutes. Apparently it was difficult because of all the blue. Um hum, yeah, I didn’t believe them either!
This was the first Christmas where Bubs understood the concept of Santa Claus and her excitement was building by the day. On Christmas Eve she couldn’t sleep because she was desperate to see Santa but she finally crashed out from exhaustion at midnight, after I agreed to sleep on the floor next to her bed. (My back still hasn’t recovered!) Bubs really got stuck in to opening her gifts on Christmas day and has asked every morning since whether there are more presents under the tree!
She’s had no shortage of willing volunteers to put together her new Brio train track as Hubs, Uncle G and my Dad turned out to be closet railway enthusiasts! I’ve been in charge of reading all of her new story books and we have lots of candidates for our next What We’re Reading post.
Every year since we all moved in together my mum-in-law has baked the Christmas cake and I’ve decorated it. This year I found loads of fabulous, and very intricate, ideas on Pinterest but in the end I chose to do something simple. Mind you, the fact that we only remembered to make the cake at about 5 o’clock on Christmas Eve might have reduced my choices a bit!
Bubs wouldn’t sit still for dinner and instead went around and around the table pulling all of the crackers. She loved playing with the Fortune Teller Fish, which is my favourite bit of cracker tat.
As for me, I was thoroughly spoilt with photography bits and bobs including a studio lighting kit and a properly posh camera bag. I’m a lucky lady!
Hubs has next week off work and we plan on doing as little as possible, which is my favourite way to spend the holidays. Bubs is a bit under the weather with this cold that is doing the rounds, so a few days of snuggling on the sofa are called for.
Oh, incase anyone is wondering, Bubs’ crochet blanket sadly wasn’t finished in time for Christmas. I’m still working on the blasted edging, but hey I have high hopes of being finished by next Christmas!
