Tomorrow marks seven years since my Mum passed away. During those seven years so much has happened that I wish Mum could’ve been a part of. She never got to meet Hubs, or be the Mother of the Bride and Bubs will never know her other Nana, other than through stories and pictures.
Mum fought a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Over the five years that she underwent treatment she volunteered for numerous drug trials and scientific studies in hopes that the research might help other women in the future.
It’s only fitting that on this anniversary I use this blog of mine to try to do the same. If even one woman is helped by the information below then Mum won’t have fought in vain.
It’s a total myth that ovarian cancer is a silent killer and that once you have symptoms the cancer is already advanced. In fact there are signs and symptoms even at the earliest stages of the disease so please take one minute to complete this online symptom checker. One minute. That’s less time than it takes to boil a kettle.
UPDATE: There appears to be a problem with the widget. If you want to use the symptom checker then please visit the BEAT Ovarian Cancer website.
